Hello Icavitt, 1500 $ is enough for living, just if you rent an apartment for no more than 300 $ per month. Alexandria is a nice city, a good location will be better to enjoy your life, but the city is crowded in summer, so I recommend Red sea area to move to especially Hurghada. There, you will meet people from England, Germany, and Russia. It is a normal city understands the Other's culture..
Alexandria is a choice to live, and Hurghada is 2nd choice to live and enjoy.
