Birth certificate or passport with middle names

mrdarcey

Hi Everyone

I am an Egyptian living in England, my wife is English. We had a baby recently, and I would like to get him an Egyptian birth certificate, and passport.

The problem is that we are choosing a composite name (with middle names) for the baby, while in Egypt it looks like they are disallowing middle names anymore.

The Egyptian consulate requires the British birth certificate as one of the document, and this will have his first-name, as well as the middle names that we will choose. So I am not sure how they will handle this.

Anyone has similar experience? I don't mind if his Egyptian brith certificate, and passport, to have just his firstname, and then my first-name, my father's name, etc... and no middle names.

Appreciate any help if you're familiar with the topic.

Hi,
There was a family with British wife and Egyptian father. Son went to Egypt with them on holiday. On their way home to Britain, son was arrested at the Airport and sent for military service. Parents protested because son grew up in the UK and wasn't familiar with Egypt. Son was frightened and confused. Saving grace was son was not registered as Egyptian with Egyptian passport. They had to release the frightened young man.
Be aware of this implication as you make your son Egyptian. Prepare him for military service.
