Welcome to Cyprus! I am new here too. Regarding education, it depends. If you will compare it to British - no, it is not great. But you can find British Academy here, and other private Universities, which are quite good and will help you in your future.
Life here is good, calm, quiet, healthy. You can find noisy places and some events during summer season (May - October). Winter is different story))
But I can't judge as I am here only 9 months and still have time to discover it.
